アニメ (ENGLISH VERSION)

I still remember waking up early in the morning with my brother, on weekend, to spend the day watching cartoons in Disney Channel, Fox Kids and Cartoon Network, it seems it was yesterday...

Lots of series have marked our childhood: Sailor Moon, Doraemon, Dragon Ball, Naruto, Pokémon, Digimon, Heidi, Oliver and Benji, Marco, Maya the Bee, Conan Detective, Hamtaro, Yu-Gi-Oh! and I could still go on...

On the left side, the picture of the most difficult choice of a new Pokémon trainer, between Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle.

All I have named before belon to Anime gender, an animation style born in Japan. Tha cartoons are made for all ages from child to adult. A lot of series and anime works are based on Manga stories (japan stories).

The sketches in Manga are read from right to the left like traditional japanese writing.

Osamu Tezuka is considered ` Manga´s Father´. Disney created one of his best plays- The Lion King (1994, Rob Minkoff, Roger Allers)- basing on one of Tezuka masterpieces: Kimba, the white lion (Janguru Taitei).
Traditionally the anime is drawn by hand and a lot of their scripts have been broadcast live as serie, film or even into videogames of their characters and adventures.

In the beginning of September the film director, illustrator, anime producer and mangaka master (comic cartoonist), Hayao Miyazaki, announced that he was retiring.

Hayao Miyazaki has directed animation films as: Nausicaä of the Valley of the wind (1984), My neighbor Totoro (1988), Princess Mononoke (1997) and Spirited Away  (2001), that won a Golden Bear and a Oscar.

His last film will be a goodbye to the cinema, Kaze Tachinu (The wind rises, 2013), which talks about Jiro Horikoshi, the man who designed the military aircraft Zero, which was used in Pearl Harbor attack, durin II World War.

In his first years, Miyazaki collaborated with Isao Takahata in anime: Heidi, Marco and Anne of Green Gables. In 1985 both directors and producers founded the Ghibli Studio, one of the best animation studios in the world.

The Ghibli Museum is a comercial museum where are exhibited the anime made by this Studio, is placed in Mitaka, Japan.

Another mangaka, director and script writer that I also like is Katsuhiro Otomo. It is famous for directing Akira (1988), artist of the Original Manga that was turn into a film.

When Otomo started filming Akira, the Manga hasn´t been published yet, that´s why there are differences between Manga and the film.

Other films are: Memories (1996), Metropolis (2001) and Steamboy (2004).

Note: Pocket Monsters ( Pokémon) creator, Satoshi Tajiri, was diagnosed of Asperger Syndrome.

The Asperger Syndrome is a severe development disorder in the information process. People affcted have normal look and intelligence or even more intelligent than the average. They have a special cognitive style and frequently, special habilities in limited areas- as for example, Taijiri liked to trap and collect insects, lately he invented Pokémon.

These people also have a disability in social interaction, particularly with same age people, restricted  interests, literally language interpretation, difficulty in feelings interpretation and emotions in other people.

To finish I link you the soundtrack of another anime serie, Shin- Chan, created by Yoshito Usui

And the first Manga , Tagosaku to Mokube no Tokyo Kenbutsu (1902), by Rakuten Kitazawa.
