From dictionary definition, love is a strong human feeling, which taking into acount its own insufficiency, needs and search for the meeting and union with another being (a friend, brother, father, mother, girl/boyfriend, cousin...).
There are COUNTLESS love films- for example, The Notebook (2004, Nick Cassavetes), Titanic (1997, James Cameron), P.S. I love You ( 2007, Richard LaGravenese), A walk to remember (2002, Adam Shankman), Pride and Prejudice (2005, Joe Wright), Remember me (2010, Allen Coulter)- romantic, where love triumphs at the end of every story.
All of this is all right, you finish watching the films and stay positive, you create yourself an important love expectation, that starts decreasing while you are getting older- and in some many cases these expectations are reached, even overcomed.

So, when one of the couple does not feel the same as the other, when we do not fit together, when there are continuous fights or long silences...Why is this not reflected , more often, in the big screen?
``This is a story of boy meets girl, but you should know upfront, this is not a love story´´- is the prelude of 500 days of Summer film (2009, Marc Webb), is in my opinion a very realistic romantic comedy where the main character, Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), revises his relationship (of 500 days) with Summer (Zooey Deschanel), looking for signs that help him to understand what went wrong between them.
What i like from this film: the chemistry between the main characters, the original soundtrack (like The Smiths and Regina Spektor), the way to mix expectation versus reality and how is represented the passing of time.
Note: Zooey Deschanel (singer, piano and ukulele) has got a group of music- She and Him-with MatthewWard (guitar nd production), both met while filming The Go-Getter (2007, Martin Hynes), in which the actress became known.
Another film that talks about love is Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind (2004, Michel Gondry) a film starring Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet. It won an Oscar for Best Original Script.
The idea of this film emerged from a question: What would happen if you got a letter warning you that you have been erased from somebody´s memory and that you should not try to contact with them?

We can see a serious Jim Carrey, a big perfomance of Kate Winslet, with a great company- Elijah Wood and Kristen Dunst- , the mixture of present and past memories and how the story, which is difficult to follow up at the beginning, ends up with total meaning.
The title of the movie comes from an Alexander Pope poem, one of the most important english poet in XVIII century.
And to finish I leave you some songs of 500 days of Summer O.S.T., the second one is from Zooey´s group:
